Howell Flooring can
be hand scraped and custom finished using any of our
nine wood types.
When you call about a hand scraped floor, we put you
in contact with our hand scraper who will then work
with you to determine the features you desire. After
you have agreed to the wood type, the scraping characteristics,
and the stain/finish, a sample will be sent to you for
approval. Your floor will be made from the sample. Like
a tailor made suit, your floor is truly unique.
Hand scraped floors
are a step back in time. Before the days of sanding
machines, wooden floors were hand scraped with special
tools, before they were finished. The main difference
in the old methods and those of today is that today's
hand scraped floors are done board by board before they
are installed.
In many ways the craftsmanship
is even greater today than in the past. We would be
glad to help you get one of the finest hardwood floors
available.
